DRESS CODE GUIDELINES

  1. Wearing uniforms during school hours is compulsory.
  2. Alteration in the uniforms is strictly prohibited.
  3. Low waist pants & bottom cuts are not permitted in campus.
  4. Shirts should be washed, ironed, and buttoned properly.
  5. Shoes should be polished and pants / skirts should be properly washed and ironed.
  6. The trousers bottom-end should not be less than 14 inches and in full length.
  7. Nails must be trimmed regularly.
  8. Belts must be worn tightly and visibly.
  9. Hairstyle should be according to the norms of the school; it should be cropped short and neatly comped.
  10. Fancy hair styles like ponytails or loose hair are not allowed in the school campus.
  11. Student should wear uniform regularly, and not wearing prescribed uniform may invite corrective actions like, warning, suspension and if not followed even dismissal from the school.

PROLOGUE

The School’s Discipline Policy and associated rules and regulations are part and parcel of imparting of education at APS and should be followed meticulously and religiously. Every aspect of the rules and regulations is of binding nature and an instruction to students and parents. The Value Inculcation Programme (VIP) at school is the basis of APS behavioural guidelines. The 9-Core Values and their associated tenets are expected to be part of student’s behaviour and personality. The discipline code is envisaged to help integrate these values into their behaviour and conduct. The rules, regulations and guidelines envisioned by the School are pertaining to the upbringing, safety and security of the pupils at APS to help all stakeholders have a common understanding of the criteria and measures adopted by the school in varying circumstances which need to be adhered to and ensured by both parents and pupils. Though the school discipline policy is primarily aimed at ensuring good habits, practices, safety and security of children inside the school compound, it has a greater significance and effect in grooming them as good citizens of the country and world.

1. GENERAL GUIDELINES AND ADHERENCE TO RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • TO ALL FOLLOW RULES AND REGULATIONS: It is mandatory that all stakeholders follow the rules and regulations as given under.
  • Read the almanac: Read the school almanac carefully and abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the school.
  • Student Profile: Students should affix their photograph and write the required information in the space provided in the It should be duly signed by their parents.
  • Carrying almanac to school: Every student should carry her/his almanac to the school daily.
  • No demand for Exceptions: No parents are permitted to make demand over and above the school rules, arrangements, systems, and practices which includes but not limited to administration, admission, payment of fees, school timings, examinations, academic organisation,  class allocation, reshuffling the students from one class to another.
  • No Change of Division: No parents or students are expected to demand for change of section or division/class and no parents are allowed to make any objection to such arrangements.
  • Checking the School Diary: We earnestly recommend the parents/guardians/wardens to look into their wards’ school almanac every day and see that the lessons/ homework/assignments are completed regularly and checked by the teachers. Remember to verify the teachers’ remarks and respond appropriately.
  • Checking the Progress: Enquire about your child’s progress Parents are requested to maintain a separate file / diary for their wards’ academic follow up.
  • Change of Address: Parents are required to inform the school if there is a change in the address or telephone numbers.
  • Contacting the School: Whenever the parents/guardians write to the school, always quote your ward’s full name, admission number, class, and sections.
  • Responding to schools Communications: Parents /Guardians ‘are requested to respond to the calls, messages or any other mode of communications from the school positively.
  • School Website: The school website is appapublicschool.com parents are encouraged to use the school website and the ERP and other communication channels for all the school updates. The school website is a comprehensive ready-to-hand access point to keep abreast of the school news, information, timetable, programmes, etc.
  • Extra and co-curricular activities: Parents should encourage their children to take part in all extracurricular activities.
  • The Communication and Leadership Training: The communication and leadership training like Gavel Club, Youth Leadership Programme, Farwell Programme for Grades X and XII, Class Photograph, and Tours and Travels, are chargeable.
  • Bringing valuables: Parents should see that students are not wearing or bringing valuables including but not limited to expensive watches, gold ornaments, cameras, and cell The school will not be responsible for the loss of any such valuables. If students are found bringing prohibited items it shall be confiscated and may or may not be returned and if returned, it would be only at the end of the term/year.
  • Wearing decorative items: Parents should make sure that students are not wearing any ornament, earrings, studs, thread, or any other decorative, ornamental Parents should make sure that students do not have any decorative, religious or non- religious paintings, including but not limited to tattooing, painting the body or part of the body.
  • No Gifts: Sending gifts in kind or currency are strictly prohibited.

Parents are requested not to make any social engagements or medical appointments during working hours.
  • Taking pupils out: Parents should strictly avoid taking their ward/s away from the school during the working hours for flimsy reasons.
  • No leave for religious or social functions: Parents are required not to make any religious, social engagement or medical appointments, except for medical emergency, during the working days/hours.
  • Meeting Students: Parents should seek permission at the Office/Enquiry to meet their ward and should wait in the reception until the ward is brought to them.
  • Opening Day: Parents should send their ward to the school on the day of reopening of each term.
  • Leave: If a student is absent s/he should present a leave letter duly signed by the parent when s/he comes to the class next Parents should send a leave letter in advance seeking permission for taking leave if the leave is planned or foreseen.
  • Medical Certificate: If a student is absent due to medical condition, medical certificate should be submitted on the very next day of her/his attendance.

  • NO DISRESPECT TO SCHOOL STAFF: NO PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO SHOUT AT THE SCHOOL STAFF ANYTIME ANYWHERE.
  • A STUDENT WHO HAS RESPECT FOR THE SCHOOL AND THE TEACHER LEARNS IMMENSELY. AVOID CRITICIZING THE SCHOOL OR TEACHERS IN THE PRESENCE OF YOUR CHILD.
  • No shouting or whistling is allowed in the school premises.
  • Change of classrooms between periods, whenever required, should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
  • Gate Closing Norms: The school gates are closed after the specified entry and departure timing. Parent shall not demand to open the gate for her/him when it’s not permitted.
  • Complaints: Parents shall present their legitimate complaints in writing whenever it is required or requested.
  • Labelling the Belongings: Parents should send their ward’s lunch box duly labelled and in case it (lunch box) is brought after the student’s arrival, the parents should place it in the place specified for it.
  • Compensations: Parents are expected to compensate for any vandalism, destruction of the school properties, or any other loss arising from their ward’s behaviour.

  • Complaints: Legitimate complaints in writing addressed to the principal can be submitted at the reception. Parents are also permitted to see the Section Coordinator with appointment to express their concerns.
  • Birth Day: Parents are requested to ensure that the birthday celebration of your ward in the school is confined to her/ his classmates only and should be on a modest scale as directed by the school’s customs. No student is expected come in a dress that is deemed not appropriate for an educational institution and no special privileges shall be granted.
  • Salutation/Wishing: Students should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet elders whenever and wherever they meet them. Students are expected to wish each other and be courteous to all the visitors in the school. Bullying and usage of foul language are punishable offenses.

2. THE WEIGHT OF THE SCHOOL BAG

  • The school will not be responsible for students bringing extra books, books that are not required to the The parents should take care that students pack their bags according to the given time table. The school time table is arranged in such a way that the weight of the book is suitable to their age group. If a student is suffering from health problems which debilitate her/his ability to carry bag, appropriate medical document and application should be filed with the school. The parents are not expected to demand going to the section or entering the restricted areas in the pretext of weight of the bags.
  • No item in the form of lunchbox/pencil box/books/activity material/musical instrument, etc. shall be permitted to be brought to the class after the school begins.

3. NO TWO WHEELERS FOR STUDENTS

  • Students are not permitted to use two-wheeler motor If a student wearing the school uniform is found riding a motor vehicle without proper licence form the Govt. of India, s/he will be subjected to prosecution as per law.
  • The parents who provide vehicles to the students who is a minor and who does not possess a valid driving license will not only be legally responsible but also that her/his ward will have to face disciplinary action from the school.

4. COMMUNICATION

  • Parents / Guardians are requested to respond to the calls from the school positively.
  • Parents/guardians are requested to refer to their ward’s school diary daily and note the homework and other instructions given.
  • Remarks made in the diary should be seen and countersigned by the parents on the same day. Failure to do so will not be considered as excuses of any kind.
  • All communications should be addressed to the appropriate authority (Class Teacher/Grade Coordinator/Section Coordinator/Principal) Clearly mention your child’s admission number, class and section in your communication if the communication is not through the diary.
  • Inform the school if there is any change in your address, designation or telephone number by submitting an application to the class teacher.
  • Check the school portal/website regularly and keep yourself updated about the school activities and other information.
  • Please do not try to contact the principal or teachers over the phone directly. Meeting the Principal with prior appointment is appreciated.
  • In case of emergency the parent should come in person to take the child home or an authorized person whose identity as the guardian is revealed to the school could be sent along with an application addressed to the Principal. In such cases of deputing authorised persons to act on behalf of the parent, the parents should telephonically confirm with the Section Coordinator the identity of the person.

5. CLEANLINESS AND PLASTIC POLICY

  • Plastics: Our school is a poly bag/plastic free zone. Parents are requested not to send or bring any items like lunch packs, water bottle, and stationery, craft articles etc. to school in plastics containers. All parents are requested not to send or bring any article to school in plastic bottles or poly bag.
  • The students should be encouraged to cultivate a habit of cleanliness and they should be taught to maintain personal hygiene such as having clean ears, clipped nails and trimmed hair, etc.
  • Parents, guardians, and visitors are strictly prohibited from the following:

(i) Spiting anywhere in and around the campus.
(ii) Throwing/depositing waste materials of any kind anywhere in the campus except in the dustbins.
(iii) Bringing plastic bottles or plastic thrash/materials inside the campus.

6. HEALTH AND HYGIENE

  • Should there be any infectious diseases in student’s house; parents must report the same to the school authorities immediately. It is preferable not to send their ward/s to the school until the quarantine period is over.
  • Parents should not send their wards to the school if their wards are suffering from any sickness or infectious disease.
  • Parents shall inform the school authorities in writing about any sickness, physical or psychological, impairments of any kind, disabilities, discomforts, medical prescriptions, well in advance.
  • Parents shall not bring a sick child for writing examination or any other academic or non-academic programmes or activities. The school shall not be responsible for any untoward incident in terms of the health, safety and security, happens during her/his stays in the school, if the parents force their sick child/ren to attend the class or school activities.

7. HIDING INFORMATION

  • Parents taking admission of their wards at APS are expected to reveal everything about their ward, including but not limited to:

(i) Family problems like estranged marital relationship
(ii) Separation/divorce of the parents.
(iii) Physical infirmities including but not limed to contagious diseases.
(iv) Psychosomatic problems like emotional and social fixations.
(v) Neurocognitive problems.
(vi) Learning disabilities like dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, non- verbal disabilities, oral and written language disorders, dyspraxia, etc.

  • If a parent/s hide any pertinent information including but not limited to the above, the school shall not be held responsible for any impact, or consequences arising from such act of hiding.

8. LANGUAGE NORMS

  • The following language rules are strictly implemented at APS.

(i) As medium of instruction in this school is English, students should communicate only in English language.
(ii) The school will follow such methodologies of teaching and learning as appropriate as construed by the school and may not consider the demand of the parents if not deemed appropriate.
(iii) Cultivating a regular reading habit and at least 20 minutes loud reading at home.
(iv) The school’s medium of communication is English and all the students are expected to speak English in the School premises.

9. RESPECTING THE SCHOOL STAFF

  • Any abusive language used by the students/ parents/guardian towards the school staff including the transport staff shall be considered an offense against school and will be invite disciplinary action, and if incorrigible, even dismissal from the school.
  • Students travelling for the purpose of education tours/excursions/workshops/sporting events/competitions held outside the school must necessarily have to bear all the expenses incurred.
  • Parents/guardians are advised not to be involved in physical or mental abuse of any fellow classmate/friend of their ward for any reason whatsoever. In case of a problem, that may arise, complaints may be lodged with competent authority at the school (Principal via Class Teacher or Section Coordinator) to resolve the matter.

10. USE OF UNFAIR MEANS

11. ACADEMIC PROGRESS

  • The school reserves the right to suspend or take strict disciplinary action against a student whose diligence or progress in studies is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct towards the school community is undesirable.
  • Extra Classes for needy students: When special/extra classes are held after school, the students are required to attend them without fail. School transport will be available on predetermined routes.
  • Students may be given tutorials also as and when required to prepare them for all types of examinations.
  • NO RETEST: Parents are not expected to cause students miss their examinations in the name of religious functions, or other ceremonies, and No retest shall be conducted to those who miss the test or examinations.
  • The school reserve all right to make relevant policies regarding the test and examination.

12. SCHOOL PROPERTIES

  • Students are expected to respect the school properties. No student should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls, desks, or any other places other than the books meant for writing. They also should not misuse or damage things belonging to others. Damages done by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the principal. Any damage done accidently will be repaired by the parent of the pupil who causes it; or if it amounts to vandalism the ward’s parent shall be charged with 3 times the cost amount of the damaged material/s.

13. SAFETY AND SECURITY

  • Medical contingency: Albeit taking good care of every pupil, in case of any medical contingency, the school will administer the required first aid and immediately take the child to a nearby hospital/medical centre. Any medical expenses incurred thereby will be borne by the parent/guardian. The school under any circumstance shall not be responsible for any medical and unforeseen incident that the student might face in the school campus, while travelling by the school bus, or during a tour/excursion or visiting outside the school campus.
  • Escort of the Commuters: Student who commutes under the care of escorts should never leave the school before the escort arrives. In case of delay, they should inform the school office/Class Teacher/Coordinator.
  • The escort of the student’s commuters shall never take a student out of the school without reporting to the Class / Room Teachers/Mother Teachers.
  • The escort of the private commuters shall be made known to the class teachers and the responsibility of making it known to the class teacher shall be on the parents/guardian.
  • No students will be allowed to move out of the campus with an unauthorised person at any time once the students enter inside the campus.
  • All students are expected to label their shoes, bags, blazers to avoid confusion.
  • Arms/weapons are not allowed in the campus, except the school’s own security Parents/Guardians/Visitors will be frisked for the safety and security of the students and therefore, they are requested not to bring arms or armed guards inside the campus.
  • Frisking: The school reserves the right to check the school bags and uniforms of the students and seize any undesired materials if found in their bags/possession.
  • Parents who send their wards in private vehicles should take all precautions to make sure that their wards board the vehicle meant for them.
  • Parents are not expected to send strangers to pick up their wards from the school premises without appropriate written authorisation.

14. PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Prohibited Items includes but not limited to the following.

(i) Valuables: Students are not permitted to bring valuables like currencies, ornaments, electronics, etc. other than their learning materials to the school. The school is not responsible for any loss of student possessions, stationaries, or any other goods lost.
(ii) No religious relics: Students are not permitted to bring religious relics to the school.
(iii) Mobile Phones: Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets to the school campus.
(iv) Electronic Gadgets: Students are not permitted to wear electronic/digital/smart watches. Only normal analogue watches are permitted.
(v) Students found in possession of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, or any prohibited item in any form shall be suspended or dismissed without notice.
(vi) Eatables: No eatables other than permitted by the school shall be brought to the school or shared to another person in the school at anytime and anywhere in the school premises.
(vii) No books, magazines, photographs, CDs, DVDs, pen drives etc. other than the text books or library books should be brought to the school without permission.
(viii) No students shall bring money, or medicine other than permitted by the doctor. The medicines or money as required by the conditions shall be submitted to the Class Teacher who will avail such things as per requirement.
(ix) No individual (Parents, students, visitors and staff) shall bring, use, or transfer any items prohibited by the Govt. of India in the campus.

15. ENTRY AND PARKING

  • The parking norms of the school should be strictly followed by all irrespective of their status.
  • PARKING IN THE SCHOOL PREMISES IS NOT A RIGHT of the parents but a privilege.
  • THE SCHOOL PROVIDES PARKING FACILITIES ONLY IN A LIMITED
  • No parents can demand for parking at any time.
  • Parents are required to park their vehicles as per the school norms in the private vehicles’ parking area only.
  • If the parking area is full, the school do not own responsibility to provide parking spaces in any circumstances.
  • The school cannot be held responsible for any damages caused to the parked vehicles inside or outside the school premises at any given point of time.
  • Parents are prohibited from bringing their personal vehicles inside the school campus any time during the day except when special permissions are granted.
  • Parents/guardians/drivers who come to drop the children must do so at the main gate only (Gate No I).
  • GATE TIMINGS: For students of Secondary and Middle stages the entry time is between 7:30 – 7:40 am. Those who are coming late shall not be permitted to enter the school after 7:40 m. (for the middle and senior school).
  • For students of Foundation and Preparatory Stages the entry time shall be between 9:15 – 9:30 am. After 9:30 m. the gate shall be closed.
  • Submission of the ID card is mandatory to enter the school building. The parents/visitors who enter the building shall submit their ID cards for obtaining the entry pass. No exceptions to this rule are given unless specified by the Principal on special occasions.
  • Parents should enter their names and vehicles number (if applicable) at the gate before entering the school campus except during the school entry and departure time.
  • Parents should seek permission at the office to meet a student or staff for a genuine Entry passes are required to move into the sections for any purpose. Parents can avail the entry pass from the PRO Office.

16. PUNCTUALITY

  • Parents must ensure that their wards re/join the school on the notified date of the beginning of the term or after each vacation.
  • Students should be punctual and report to school in accordance with the school’s prescribed timings.
  • If the students are coming late, the onus of responsibility is on the parents and therefore, parents will be blamed for the students’ late coming, and the subsequent loss of learning .
  • Frequents late coming will invoke disciplinary actions including, suspension, and dismissal from the school.
  • If the student is late once in a month s/he will be accepted to the class with a verbal warning.
  • If the student is late twice, a warning letter will be issued which should be signed by the parent and submitted back to the Class  Teacher.
  • If the student is late for 3 times, the parents will be called and informed about the consequences of further late comings.
  • If the student is late for more than 3 times, the student will be suspended (the parents may be asked to take their ward back home/student could be dropped back home).
  • IN CASE OF LATE COMING, THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE REQUESTED TO TAKE THEIR WARDS BACK HOME
  • No parents are permitted to argue with the school staff regarding NO EXCEPTIONS SHALL BE GRANTED FOR REPEATED LATER COMERS.
  • Parents should see that their wards revise lessons and do their homework regularly; and ensure that their ward submits the assignments and projects well on time.
  • Parents should take an active and helpful interest in the activities of the school.

18. SCHOOL UNIFORM AND GROOMING

  • Identity Card:
  • The school identity card with photograph of the student should be worn on every working day and for all school functions.
  • Every student must wear her/ his ID card whenever they are coming to the school or representing the school in events inside or outside the school campus.
  • If the ID cards are damaged, mutilated or lost, a new identity card will have to be purchased by the parents by giving an application on the prescribed form available at the administrative office along with the replacement charge of Rs 350. They must also ensure that the mutilated cards are immediately surrendered along with the application form.
  • Students must be dressed in complete uniform on all days. The school has a zero tolerance policy towards tardy uniforms.
  • Alteration of school uniform is strictly prohibited and is considered as serious violation of school guidelines. If a student is found in altered uniform, s/he will be subjected to disciplinary procedures including suspension, and it is required that the altered uniform is replaced with a new uniform.
  • All the students must wear the uniform on school days as per the prescribed norms and whenever and wherever they represent the school.
  • Parents should send their children in the specified school uniform and on Students not wearing the prescribed school uniform will be sent back home.

  • Parents are requested to ensure that their child/children wear/s clean undergarments.

  • Students necessarily have to wear specified shoes properly cleaned and polished.
  • House Uniforms, sporting gear like track-pants, house-T-shirt, track jacket, should be worn only on the prescribed days and when students are asked to wear.
  • It is mandatory for girls to wear track pants whenever and wherever they participate in any sporting activity. However, the HOD Sports or coaches can decide on the outfit to be worn in the playing arena as per the rules and regulations of the sporting discipline.
  • Girls are permitted to wear only studs in their ears. Any other jewellery is not permitted and if found wearing any other ornament, it shall be confiscated. Boys are not permitted to wear any jewellery.
  • All boys must keep their hair EXCEPTIONS ON RELIGIOUS GROUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE. Girls up to Class III with long hair should tie their hair into 2 plaits along with a black hair band. Girls of Class IV and above are permitted to wear their hair in a single braid or ponytail, tied back with black bands only.
  • Hair streaking, hair extensions, coloured lip balms, nail polish and shortening of shirt sleeves among girl students, are prohibited. Children found violating these rule will not be allowed sit in class until it is rectified.
  • Students should wear the sports uniform on prescribed days On occasions when children are permitted to wear coloured clothes to school, they are required to be in formal clothing which is suitable for the school atmosphere. Girls of Class IV and above need to wear clothing that ends below their knees. Children who wear clothing inappropriate will be asked to change even if it is their birthday.
  • Students are expected to wear the pullover/sweaters/blazer/headscarf as per the school uniform code only. The colour of such wears shall be olive green. No other colours shall be permitted inside the school campus.
  • During PTM days the accompanying students should wear uniform.
  • Students are permitted to wear only normal watches (analogue watches) only; NO electronic, digital or smart watches are permitted.
  • Boys should have close cut hair Girls should not have streaked hair and fancy hairstyles. Hair should be plaited. Girls and boys are not permitted sport painted nails or mehndi.
  • It is suggested that the students wear appropriate school uniform in different weather conditions and must carry an umbrella or wear a rain coat depending on the weather conditions.

17. ATTENDANCE

  • It is compulsory for all students to have minimum 75% attendance to be eligible to appear for school/board
  • HOWEVER, FREQUENTLY OR INTERMITTENTLY ABSENT STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC OUTCOME WILL BE THE PARENT’S RESPONSIBILITY AND AT THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR, TC WILL BE ISSUED TO SUCH STUDENTS.
  • To apply for leave, the parents must fill up the Student Leave Application Performa which is made available through the school website or at the school office along with a signed note in the almanac on the “Record of  Absence.”
  • To avail Medical Leave (ML), the Student Leave Application Performa (available in the school website) must be submitted along with relevant medical documents including the Medical Certificate issued by a registered medical surgeon.
  • Students suffering from any infectious or contagious disease must produce a medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner, permitting her/him re-join the school.
  • Students suffering from the following contagious diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before re-joining school.

  • During PTMs, attendance will be given to the students only if parent/s along with their ward/s has/have attended the PTM on the given day. The student accompanying the parents should be in the school uniform.
  • Students can avail Duty Leave (DL) only for representing the school at the international/national/state level in cultural, literary or sporting events approved by the school.
  • Any students availing Early Departure (ED), or with one or more instance of Late Arrival (LA) is not entitled for 100%
  • It is compulsory for all students to be present on the first working day after each vacation.
  • Repeated or Unexplained absence for more than 6 consecutive working days after each vacation renders the student liable to pay a fine as prescribed by the In case of such unexplained absence, the onus of responsibility for the missed classes and resultant academic progress will be on the parents.
  • Student’s Early Departure (ED): Early Departure/Short Leave / One Day Leave for students during school hours are not permissible unless there are sufficient grounds like demise of close relatives or medical Grant of ED shall be the sole jurisdiction of the school’s competent authority. Under any circumstances for initiating ED procedures there has to be a formal request at the front desk sent directly for the approval of competent authority.
  • Students are not permitted take leave on religious grounds, private or public. All major religious festivals days approved by the Govt. of India or the Govt. of Karnataka are either gazetted or restricted holidays.
  • IT IS REQUIRED THAT ALL MEDICAL CHECK-UPS OR APPOINTMENTS, TRAVEL PLANS AND FAMILY FUNCTIONS, ETC. SHOULD BE FIXED KEEPING IN MIND THE SCHOOL SCHEDULES, PROGRAMMES AND VACATION.
  • Under any circumstances students will not be granted ED/SL/ODL in the days when assessments/tests/exams/assignments are scheduled. For acute medical cases, such leaves on the day of exam/test will be permitted if it is supported by an advice note from a registered medical practitioner not less than the rank of an assistant surgeon.
  • After reporting to the school, no student shall be granted leaves until parents personally come and pick them up. Applications sent with driver and relatives shall not be entertained. If parents are constrained to be available to collect their wards, a proper authorization letter along with valid documents/ID proof should be furnished at the front office in advance.
  • In case of ED/Emergency Leave Call (ELC) from the school, only parents as stated in the admission form will be allowed to pick up their ward from the school and only after producing the ID card.
  • Early Departure cases shall not be entitled for 100% attendance.

19. LIBRARY RULES

  • The library rules are displayed in the library and students are expected to know and follow the common library rules and in particular APS library rules.
  • Students are allowed to enter the library only with their identity cards.
  • Students are allowed to borrow books with their own identity cards only.
  • Reference books are not for issue. These books can be referred to/consulted within the library only. Books other than reference books are issued for one week.
  • If a student is found using library books other than what is purport to, or damage, mark, or disfigure the books, the book/s will have to be replaced by the same/recent edition of the book by the borrower after paying an additional two times the cost of the book as fine.
  • Students/Teachers are not allowed to bring their personal books or belongings inside the library.
  • Book misplaced is a book lost.
  • On holidays the library shall remain closed.
  • Laptops shall be permitted to be carried in the A4 sheets/pencil should be used for any written work.
  • Checking of the examination copies in the library is strictly prohibited.
  • Entering into the book processing area is restricted.
  • Maintain silence in the library. To maintain silence in the library, no two students/teachers hall be sitting together.
  • Late fine for not returning the books on time shall be imposed as given below. The late fine shall not be charged if a student remains absent with authorized Rs 20/- for 1 to 3 working days and Rs 50/- for 4 to 7 working days.

20. SCHOOL TRANSPORT AND PARKING

  • The parents who avail the school bus facility also agree and undertake that they have gone through the rules and regulations of the school bus service that their ward/s promise to abide by the rules and regulations of the school bus service and see that their child conforms to the standards required of her/him in bus conduct.
  • Follow the parking rules and arrangements: Parents should strictly follow the parking guidelines of the school without Breaking the school norms in any matters is considered as offensive and deplorable.
  • Students not wearing the School ID card shall not be permitted to board the school bus.

  • It will be the responsibility of the guardian to escort the child to and from the respective school bus points, pick-up and dropping.
  • Students are expected to be in the specified bus stops at least 5 minutes before the given time/bus arrival time. The buses will not wait for the latecomers.
  • School bus is not a right for those who take admission in the school.
  • Bus students should stay away from the main road on a safe location until the arrival of the bus.
  • The school bus points are prepared keeping in view of the safety and feasibility of all the bus commuters; hence, requests to drivers to make changes in the bus roots, or pickup and dropping points are strictly prohibited.
  • Once bordered the bus, students should not come near the entry door of the bus; they must occupy vacant seats immediately after boarding their When the bus is in motion students must not move around in the bus. They should not put any part of their body out of the bus.
  • The drivers are authorized to stop buses at the designated stops only. The list of stops is prepared keeping in view the feasibility and convenience of all.
  • Objects of any kind should neither be discarded inside the bus, nor thrown out of the If a bus student finds anything including waste materials, or discarded bags inside the bus, it should be immediately reported to the bus conductor or driver.
  • Students will be held responsible for any damage to buses caused by their negligence or vandalism.
  • No student is allowed to eat or drink (except water) in the bus.
  • Discarding trash or food either inside or outside bus is not permitted.
  • Shrieking, shouting, and unruly behaviour are strictly prohibited. Courteous behaviour is expected at all times.
  • The driver’s attention must not be distracted for any reason.
  • The students should board the bus as soon as the school gets over. It would be the responsibility of the parents to pick up their children from the campus if they do not board the bus on time.
  • The bus monitors are responsible for maintaining discipline in the buses. Any serious offence should be reported to the principal immediately.
  • The teachers availing the bus service along with the students are in-charge of the bus until they de-board the Students are expected to follow the guidance of the teacher in the bus.
  • If bus rules are violated by a student, disciplinary actions such as fine, fine with suspension, suspension, or dismissal from the bus facility with or without notice will be taken.

  • In case of any unforeseen eventualities, the parents are expected not to take matter into their own hands; however, for any serious lapses, the parent may lodge a written complaint with the school authority.
  • It is appreciable to lodge a written complaint related to bus service to the Principal via Class Teacher/Coordinator rather than raising it to the bus drivers/conductors/bus in-charges.
  • The school authorities will not be responsible for late arrival of the bus at the school-bus points due to sudden traffic jam/sudden break down of the bus. However, students so help up shall be allowed to join their classes with full

  • If a student who avails the school bus service, stops coming to the school or stops availing the bus service for any reason whatsoever after paying the bus fees, the amount shall not be returned nor adjusted.
  • If the school bus service is discontinued in case of any eventualities, at any time during the session, the facility cannot be re-availed in the same session unless payment for the un-availed period is made in Bus fee for the periods of Holidays, Vacations and Leaves (including study leaves) must be paid.
  • Non-payment of the bus fee/leaving arrears of bus fee is enough a reason for dismissing a student from the bus facility and such a student maybe dismissed from the bus facility without notice.
  • Own Transport/Private Bus Services: The parents using their personal conveyance for commuting their wards are requested to come only to the designated area to collect their wards.
  • Parents using their personal conveyance for departure are requested to enter the school premises only 10 minutes before their respective ward’s departure time.
  • Parents or guardians should come directly to the designated area to collect their wards.
  • It is recommended to be cautious while hiring an auto rickshaw or any private vehicle for the ward’s commutation. School shall not be responsible for any eventualities or inappropriate behaviour of the private vehicles hired by the parents.
  • The entry of the private vehicles hired by parents into the school premises is not permitted. They are expected to drop the students at the gate. They shall not be permitted to park their vehicle inside the school parking area or in front of the school.
  • The drivers hired by parents are not expected to argue with the school staff regarding any matters.
  • The drivers hired by parents should have proper identification proof e., name, vehicle number, license number, residential address, etc. to enter the school premises.
  • All students using the school bus are expected to be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the arrival time of the bus. Also note that the buses will not wait for the late comers.
  • The stoppages/pickup and dropout are prepared keeping in view the safety of all bus commuters; hence do not ask the drivers to make any changes in the stoppages/pickup and dropout.
  • Students are not allowed to eat while commuting in the school bus. Bus conductors have all the right to stop the students from doing so.
  • Transport related complaints must be lodged in writing with the Principle/ Management within the next day of its occurring.
  • Parents/guardians or authorised chauffeurs who use their personal conveyance for commuting should:
  • Drop their ward at the dropping point before 7:40 am in the morning.
  • Wear their Identity Card and present the same before the teacher on duty whenever required.
  • Take full responsibility of their ward’s safety and security at all times of their conveyance until they enter the school premises.
  • Not allow their wards to go with their friends/any other person other than the authorised person who is already introduced to the school authorities – Class/Room Teacher/Coordinator.
  • Not hand over their ward to any person not duly authorized by the parent.
  • Parent who pays the bus fee but drops/picks their ward to and from the school should inform the driver, the Class Teacher/Coordinator and make sure the information is received duly. Do so at the dropping point only after making an entry in the register/format available with the teacher standing at the point.
  • Drop their ward/s at the dropping point before the stipulated time.
  • Follow all the rules of the own commuters/private commuters.
  • Wear their Identity Card and present the same before the teacher on duty.
  • Not hand over the ward to any person not carrying an authorized pass and who is not authorised.

21. FEE RULES

  • Refund Policy : Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • The parent should contact the school’s accounts department, regarding any excess or double payment made by them.
  • All refund requests must be applied through a formal letter to the principal.
  • The excess payment received through technical or other reasons will be refunded only after due verification and/or within 30 days after receipt of the written complaint by the parent.
  • The net amount refunded will be after deduction of transaction processing charges paid to the online payment gateway.
  • No interest is paid on a refund of any fees/deposit. The refund of any fee is subject to the refund policy prevailing at the time of seeking a refund which may be subjected to modification from time to time.
  • Cancellation of admission: Those parents who wish to cancel the admission of their ward should give a written application signed by both the parents/ whoever signed the admission form, seeking cancellation of admission. The policy norms are mentioned below:
  • If communication in writing for withdrawal is given to the School at any time on or before May 31st, then 100% Fee will be refunded if already paid (Except Admission Fee).
  • If communication in writing for withdrawal is given to the School between 1st June and July 15, then 50% Fee (Second Instalment) if already paid the whole year’s fee will be refunded (Except Admission Fee).
  • If communication in writing for withdrawal is given to the School at any time on or after July 15, then fee will not be refunded.
  • The school fee for the on-going academic year should be cleared, even if the student has not attended the school (online / offline), since the seat is occupied by the student. If the pupil has attended even one day in the month of June, then the parent is liable to pay the Term Fee for that term along with the admission fee if any.
  • The application for withdrawal has to be accompanied with an application for the refund of should be signed by both the parents / whoever signed the admission form, along with the money receipt stating the name in which the refund cheque has to be issued.
  • The TC will be issued to the applicant within 10 working days, from the receipt of the application /the last day attended by the pupil, whichever is later.
  • The TC or any certificate or any documents will be issued only to those who have cleared the dues as mentioned by the school and the parents are requested to abide by the same.
  • If the fee receipt is lost / misplaced, then the applicant needs to submit an Indemnity Bond by paying a stamp duty of Rs.500/- duly notarised stating that he/she has lost the Parents should contact the school to understand the process for the same.

  1. Late Fine @ 10.00 per day for Day School Fees and Rs. 20.00 per day for Hostel Fees from 11th day of the first month of the relevant quarter till last day of the first month (of the relevant quarter); and thereafter @ Rs.50.00 per day for Day-School-Fees and Rs.100.00 per day for Hostel-Fees from first day of the 2nd month of the relevant quarter till the date of payment (including holidays) will be levied for failing to pay the fees by the due date i.e., on 10th of the relevant Quarter.

22. WITHDRAWAL

  • Application for TC:
  • Before applying for Transfer Certificate/withdrawal of the student from the school, three months advance notice is to be given to the school or in lieu 3 months fee is to be paid to the school.
  • If a student is withdrawn from the school, fees for the whole of the relevant Quarter shall have to be paid.

a) One clear calendar months’ notice in writing or a month’s fee in lieu of notice must be given before the pupil is withdrawn.

b) Transfer certificate will not be issued until all dues of the school are

  • Students can also be asked to leave the school (take the TC) on the following grounds:
  • Indiscipline by the student
  • Parent/s’ behaviour that are not in accordance with the rules and regulations of the school, including but not limited to, verbal, or physical attack, or written or verbal defamatory communication directly or indirectly in any platform including social media.
  • Continuous unsatisfactory progress in work
  • Detention in a class for the second year.
  • In case of withdrawal before the end of the academic year/in between the first or second half of the academic year, the fee paid for that half / period shall not be returned under any circumstances.
  • If a student is withdrawn from the school, fees for the whole of the relevant half shall be paid.
  • Application for TC should be signed by both the parents or authorised guardians.
  • If both parents are alive they are required to come to the school in person to sign the application documents for TC.
  • If both the parents are living in different places, the application shall be signed by both the parents and sent to the school via registered post. If any contradiction or inconsistency is noticed, the school will issue the TC only after clarifications.
  • The school will verify authorisations of both the parents before the issuance of TC.
  • In case of contentions by parents one applying for TC and the other opposing it, the final decision shall be based on:

a) Discretion of the school management/Principal after verifying and understanding all aspects of the contention.

b) The best interest of the pupil whose TC is issued.

c) Legal consultation and advice from the attorney.

d) Court directions in case of court ruling.

e) Based on the guidelines from the Board/Govt.

f) Completion of the formalities as per CBSE/Govt. guidelines.

  • In case of dispute, the delay in issuance of TC shall be the sole responsibility of the parents /

23. LOST AND FOUND

  • Any lost belongings of the student found in the school premises or in the bus would be kept in the lost-and-found cupboard.   • Disrespect to teachers, school authorities and school properties shall be penalized with suspension or Parents should advice and correct their wards whenever such incidents are reported and inform the school authorities in writing the corrective counselling given to the students.Parents too are expected to behave appropriately, with respect and honour with all school staff anywhere and at all times.
  • No student or adults shall indulge in any of the following practices namely:
    1. Spitting in or near the school premises
    2. Rowdy and rude behaviour
    3. Resorting to violence of any form
    4. Bursting crackers, throwing colours or painting within school premises, on the school properties or in the school bus.
    5. Painting one’s own body, or parts of the body including tattooing of any kind, including but limited to that of religious nature.
    6. Bunking classes
    7. Late coming
    8. Shouting and whistling in the school premises
  • Change of classrooms between the periods whenever required should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
  • Salutation/wishing: Students should always remember that the school is judged by their (pupil’s) conduct. They should greet the elders and each other whenever they meet, courteously.
  • Bullying and use of foul language are punishable offences.
  • Parents are advised to adhere to the discipline norms of the school and should limit their entry to the reception area and if required the payment section only.
  • PARENTS’ MOVEMENT IN THE ACADEMIC BLOCK WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION (PASS) FROM THE FRONT DESK IS PROHIBITED.
  • Responding to school’s communication: Parents / guardians are required to respond to the calls, messages, or any other communications from the school positively.
  • Parents’ co-operation and involvement are mandatory for the discipline and academic progress of their wards.

25. DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

  • Students not following the Discipline Code of the School shall be liable to corrective actions.

  • The principal will have the right to withhold the character certificate of any student whose conduct is not in keeping with the rules laid down by the school.
  • Punctuality: Keeping in view the discipline and security aspects of our pupils within the school campus, students availing the private vehicles are hereby required to reach the school campus within the prescribed time.
  • Students arriving after the prescribed time shall not be allowed to enter the school campus and those arriving late shall be brought to the principal’s office and observe the prescribed correction norms.

  • ISSUANCE OF DISCIPLINE CARDS (DC) Students who are not on expected lines in terms of their behaviour or academic performance will be issued DC or ADC according to the gravity of their status or frequency of the omissions or commissions.

If the student gets 25 A’s and above, the student would be considered as on Return Path and should be given YBMC and if further improvement is noted in the YBMC, subsequently WBMC could be issued.

ON RETURN FROM SUSPENSION

The student shall be under observation for weeks following her/his return to the school. The school leadership would make sure that a supportive environment is provided, and the student is approached affectionately. All measures should be taken to avoid labelling the pupil negatively and all should encourage the pupil to involve in curricular and cocurricular activities.

If the Discipline/Academic Report Cards evoke no result subsequently parents should sign an undertaking to take away the students from the school at the end of the academic year. If the report card is on discipline, or discipline and academics, then the suspension or dismissal could be evoked even before the end of the academic session.

HOSTEL RULES

  1. All boarders are to be compulsorily provided with School and Hostel uniforms and all other items as per the list. In case of any deficiency or when otherwise considered essential for the student, the same should be arranged and the cost will have to be borne by the parents/guardians.
  2. Boarders will follow the daily routine of the hostel and school, unless exempted on medical grounds on the recommendation of the Hostel Warden/Medical Officer.
  3. The rising and sleeping times should be strictly observed. No one should make noise or move around, after final bell for light All should be in their respective beds.
  4. Students are not allowed to stay back in the rooms during school hours/ games/activity /study time.
  5. Boarders are expected to keep their rooms neat and tidy and any type of disfiguring of walls, doors or windows will be subjected to punitive measures like suspension, dismissal along with compensation.
  6. The beds must always be kept tidy and personal belongings should be kept orderly.
  7. Shifting of bed from one place to another is strictly prohibited.
  8. Boarder must not remove any electrical fittings, lights, bulbs, fans from the Hostel/School. Any violation will be strictly penalised and compensated.
  9. Boarders shall take their meals in the common dining hall and should be properly dressed during the meals.
  10. Mess utensils should not be taken outside the dining hall.
  11. Students wishing to have extra study hours may do so with prior permission from the Warden.
  12. No one should climb on to the roofs of the buildings.
  13. Kitchen is out of bound for all the Cooking in the school premises is strictly prohibited.
  14. Guests are not entertained in the school particularly in the Hostels.
  15. Mobile phones, electric kettles, heaters, irons or any other such appliances should not be used in the hostel rooms.
  16. Always maintain proper dress code within or outside the hostels.
  17. Hostellers are not permitted to keep or take medicines or tonic without the knowledge of the Hostel Warden. Any medicines must be handed over to the Warden concerned along with doctor’s prescription.
  18. No hostellers shall keep cash or valuables articles with them. The school will not be responsible for the loss of any property of the student.
  19. Students are expected to read the notice boards and follow instructions given to them All notices will be put up on the Hostel Notice Board. Announcements, if any, will be made during dinnertime.
  20. Hostel students will be allowed to go home during the long breaks The local guardians/parents should collect their ward/s from the Hostel and make arrangement for her/his travel. All boarders will return to the hostel a day before the school reopens (by 5 pm). A fine of Rs. 500 will be imposed for late arrival. Furthermore, the school reserves the right to terminate the hostel admission of any student not reporting back in time.
  21. Hostel student who falls sick will report to the infirmary through the Hostel Warden immediately.
  22. Any wilful damage to or theft of school property or any other properties will be regarded as a breach of School/Hostel rules and the student would be penalised by school authorities.

MONTESSORI/KG STUDENTS

  1. If a parent wants to meet the KG teachers s/he will be given time after 2:30 pm on Sundays.
  2. If a parent is bringing her/his ward after 9:30 am for any reason, they will be asked to take the childe back home.
  3. Complaints / legitimate grievances if any should be addressed to the principal in writing.
  4. Parents are requested to send only the required quantity of lunch for their child’s need.
  5. Students should carry two napkins, a spoon and a water bottle duly labelled along with their lunch.
  6. One extra set of clothes and undergarments should be sent with the student in a labelled.
  7. Do not send your child to school if he or she is suffering from sickness any infectious disease until it’s cured.
  8. Parents are expected to go through the school dairy carefully and sign the same daily.
  9. Child should be potty- Wetting or soiling in school can affect her/his attitude and confidence.
  10. It is compulsory to send a pair of spare dress in the child’s bag.
  11. All KG classes have full-time care takers who assist the teachers with classroom management and other selected Hence, parents need not leave their ward beyond the specified entry point.
  12. Occasionally a child may bring home something that belongs to the classroom Please do not regard this as stealing. Explain to the child that the object is needed at school and encourage them to return it the next day. (Parents are requested to return any object the child brings from the school that does not belong to him / her).
  13. Check your child’s diary every day. Teacher’s remarks should be noted and signed.
  14. Enquire about your child’s progress frequently.
  15. Use of foul language is forbidden inside the school Hence, parents are required to be polite at all time during their interaction with the teachers.
  16. Please inform your Child’s teacher and the front office if your child needs to leave early.
  17. Parents are equally responsible for the safe passage of the child to and from the school.
  18. Parents’ co-operation and involvement are mandatory for the discipline and academic progress of their wards’.
  19. The additional functions Annual Day and Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony (KGC for UKG) are chargeable and parents may opt for their ward’s participation.
  20. Parents should seek permission at the office to meet a student or staff for a genuine Entry pass is required to move into the sections for any purpose. Parents can avail the entry pass from the PR/Front Office.
  21. Parents are requested to maintain a separate file / diary for their wards’ academic follow–up.
  22. Parents should strictly avoid taking their children away from school during school hours for flimsy Parents should encourage their children to be present on the re-opening day of each term and participate in all school functions.
